Keeping the water at a comfortable temperature

Steamrise 21 is entertainment and nothing more. These notes explain what that means in practice and how to step away when it stops feeling that way.

Eighteen and over

Social Hubs is intended for adults aged 18 or older. We ask every visitor to respect that, and we ask anyone sharing a device to make sure the table is not left open where a minor would find it. Card games of this shape are not designed for children, even when nothing of value is on the line.

Nothing here is wagering

There is no real-money wagering on this site. Coins are generated by your browser, cannot be purchased, cannot be sold, cannot be transferred and cannot be redeemed for anything — not currency, not goods, not credit elsewhere. When you close the tab, the balance ceases to exist. Social gaming only, entertainment purposes only.

A free deck teaches nothing about a paid one

It is worth stating plainly: results at this table have no bearing on any real-money activity, and a good run here is not evidence of anything. The deck is shuffled fresh each round, so streaks are coincidence rather than momentum. Treat any feeling of being “due” as a signal to pause, not to deal again.

Taking a break

  • Decide before you sit down how long you would like to play, and let that decision stand when the time arrives.
  • Play when you are rested. Fatigue and frustration both make card games feel more urgent than they are.
  • If you notice yourself resetting the balance repeatedly to chase a particular result, close the tab for the day. Nothing is lost by doing so.
  • Keep the game in the part of your day reserved for rest, not the part reserved for problems.
  • If gaming of any kind is affecting your mood, sleep, relationships or obligations, talk to a doctor or a qualified support service in your area. Local health services and support organisations can advise properly; we are a games studio and cannot.

If you would rather not play at all

You are always welcome to simply read. Nothing on this site requires an account, and there is no consequence to visiting without ever pressing Deal. If you would prefer we did not reach you again in any form, write to us via the support page and we will make it so.
